Week 14 – A Ticket to Ryde

Two weeks ago when my brother came down to visit, we went across on the floating bridge to East Cowes and jumped on a bus to Ryde. As mentioned in last weeks post, Rosemary Vineyard, we went out exploring the island to test out my brothers new Canon 7D. It was a sunny but extremely windy day, which meant trying to keep out of the wind to stay warm!

A Ticket to Ryde

Ryde is on the North East edge of the Isle of Wight, famous for its great expanse of beach at low tide and long pier to the Wight Link Catamaran. This is a collection of photos from the day while we tried to stay warm and find the gaps of sunlight!

This made me smile as I could imagine someone sitting on the post and fishing, just like the sign!

The beach was lovely and I hope to go back when there is more going on, sand castles were being built and kites flown, but I didn’t like the light in any of those shots so this is just a taster.

Thank you for reading and hope you enjoyed this update, the rest of the album can be found on Flickr here in A Ticket to Ryde.  Shot with Canon 600D and Canon 7D with 24 – 105 mm, 50 mm F1.8, 18 – 55 mm and 100 mm F2.8. Please comment with any thoughts, for more info on how I took the photos or with images of your own. Thanks!
